Hi guys

I just wanted to thank you - I stumbled across this site whilst doing some research for an assignment Iím in the middle of on Hormones - Iím currently studying Nursing in Australia and I have to say that its just given me such an insight reading this particular thread.

Its good to have the human face of pathophysiology brought home once again - its very easy when studying anything medicine related to get bogged down in the science and the research and lose sight of the human face which should be the most important thing because after all - the data is only ever of use in so far as it helps people.  Youíve all motivated me once again to make sure that I never fall in to the trap of stereotyping people due to clinical diagnosis. We are all individuals and all different.

Oh and good on you for refusing to allow yr child to be viewed by med students. It is important for students to gain experience but thereís ways of doing things. My older sister is an albino and a very rare case of absolutely no pigmentation anywhere at all. My mum has told me  about how the doctors used to come in in big groups of 20 or more to check my sis over and talked about them both as thoí neither were there. My mum was only 16 at the time and aside from being totally demeaning to her and my sister it scared the crap out of her. Itís a very wrong way to treat people.

Anyway my stories are neither here nor there I just wanted to say thankyou to all of you. These were good words to read whilst studying. Hope youíre all going well

:)

Rachael
