weight loss
Jan. 20th, 2005   12:15pm
I was just recently diagnosed with LOCAH and Iím not on treatment yet. You mentioned that you have been able to lose weight since increasing your levels. Iím interested in what your experience with weight was before you started treatments as well as after. Iíve been trying to lose weight for a year now and have even been put on Metformin to help me lose weight (because they think I have insulin resistance). Nothing is working (Iím even down to eating about 400 net calories a day), but the doctor I see will not let me go on the treatment until I lose weight. He is afraid that if I start taking a steroid that I might gain weight and since Iím having trouble losing weight he doesnít want to make that worse by putting me on a steroid. Iíve many times thought about just asking him to go ahead and put me on the steroid...hoping that getting treatment might actually HELP me lose weight. However Iíve heard from other people that they have gained a lot of weight after treatments. I donít know what to believe. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Lynn
