Heterozygous - what does this mean?

Hi, everyone. Does anyone know what it means to be heterozygous? I was diagnosed because I was seeing an infertility specialist. I definitely have symptoms (excess hair, long cycles ~ 52 days). I was diagnosed a while back to have PCOS but I too do not have cysts on my ovaries. I’m only 26 so I’m hoping that it won’t be that difficult to get pregnant but now I’m starting to worry about how this may affect my baby. Can anyone shed any light please? I’m having major anxiety over this issue. Thanks everyone.
