Hi Sara!

I’m no expert, but the way it was explained to me is that when we’re on steroids, it tricks our body into thinking we’re producing what we need so the adrenals partially shut down. This would make us more prone to crisis, but I’ve only seen a couple posts on here about LOCAHs having a crisis. I had a mild one - would hardly call it a crisis. Just got a lot more sick from an infection than I should have. I thought only salt-wasters had to stress dose - after I got so sick my doctor explained that anyone on regular steroids needs to stress-dose for significant illness/injury. My endo concurred, and I got myself a Medic Alert necklace too.
