Jennifer-I also have a private sitter. I went through United Way. They have a program called either Healthy Start or Head Start (Not sure, been almost 5 years!) They can REFER you to but not RECOMEND to you private sitters by zip code. The one that I go to watches all 3 of my kids and is a WHOLE lot cheaper than day care. I have been going to her for almost 5 years now and she's fantastic! The only problem with a private sitter is back up for when they go on vacation, etc. I am fortunate enough to have both my mother and my mother-in-law nearby who will help out in a pinch. Above all, trust your instincts. You being comfortable is what counts the most. GOOD LUCK!
