Don't feel like you are alone. When we were told that our second child would have CAH when she was born, we thought it would be easy, since we already had a one year old with CAH. But every child is different. Our second child was small, so they kept her in neonatal intensive care for a week. Once she was released from the hospital, we had to go every other day for bloodwork to make sure lytes were ok. My first born needed to take sodium chloride, but they did not start my daughter on it when she was born. We had to be extremely vigilant in case she was sodium deficient. It will get easier, once the doctors get an idea about your new baby's levels and once he has been on the meds for a while. Now I just bring both kids to the endo and pediatrician at the same time. It has gotten easier over the past year-my kids are 3 and 2 now.
