I can't speak to having a daughter, I have a 4yr old son. However, to your point of the older patients in the 20's and 30's. I have a second cousin who is female with CAH. When my son was diagnosed I contacted her mother to get whatever information I could. My cousin was about 29 at the time. I found that I knew more in just a month or so of my sons life than her mother did in the 29yrs. I was shocked to hear how the doctors handled things back then. They actually gave the parents a choice of what to make her, boy or girl. Can you imagin. They choose girl because they believe it was the correct thing to do howver I have to say that my cousin has never been happy with that decision. I don't want to frighten parents with daughters because I don't believe this is the norm. My cousin has not handled her situation well through the years and as a result I truely believe this has played a role in her attitude towards the disorder and how it has affected her. Times are totally different now from the way they were back then and as a result our children are living better lives and in most cases very normal lives.Judy
