Rebecca, your personal note at the end of your post - is an important and brave one to make. Many women with CAH would certainly like to think that children today are treated with a great deal more sensitivity than we were - if no one learnt from the traumatic treatment we were subjected to - then it was all for nothing. If today's parents want it spelt out - we were generally treated like freaks - two brief examples - not meant to offend but to try to explain - many were photographed nude or had genitals regularly examined by 10 to 12 men at a time - usually with absolutely no idea why. What do you think this sort of treatment does for a kid's self esteem. Unfortunately in some ways, we seem to continue to be the 'poor relations' of CAH with seemingly all efforts put into the treatment of children (not that we don't think this is incredibly worthwhile) but leaving many adults with lots of unanswered questions about their CAH concerns.Susan
