Well finally we got a good report on my youngest daughter. After 9 weeks on prednisone, her free testosterone level was brought down to middle "normal". This all done by what the endo called "stacking" her meds in the evening. Prior to this, all her levels were normal except the free testosterone which was 3x's higher than it should have been. He was so convinced taking the medicine before bedtime was the best time, he decided to do away with her morning pill, and take away one of the night pills. So now, after going from 45 mg cortef a day, to 15 mg prednisone a day, she is now at 5 mg prednisone a day. We go back in 6 weeks to see if that's going to suffice, and to also see if it makes any difference in her weight gain. He had told us there would be no way at all for her to lose weight on such a high dose of hydrocortisone. I just hope this works! God Bless you all. Janice Aldridge
