Bonnie, the first time (after original crisis)that my CAH son got sick, he was about your daughter's age, he was projectile vomiting, had a high fever, and was lethargic. I did not have the injectable available, so we stress dosed with double his regular dose of cortisone acetate, we also did all the other things you are doing (small amounts of fluid and Tylenol). I was told, like you, that as long as he did not vomit for 1-1.5 hours after taking the meds, that his body had sufficient time to ingest them. I have been told since then that sometimes when a person (CAH or not) is ill, that they do not digest normally. Therefore, if the injectable is available to you, I would recomend using it. And, yes, call her Endo again! I hope she is doing better by now. Keep us posted. BTW-there must be something going around, my non-CAH 3yr old was ill with a very high fever that started Wednesday morning, and lasted til Saturday morning. He had no other symptoms, but vomitting during a fever is common for a CAH child. --Keep calling her Endo & pediatrician!!--
