I agree with both the arguments pro and con students... My son was misdiagnosed in his first crisis by a group of interns who poinantly denounced me as a bad mom, re-hydrated him and sent him home warning me that if he came back he would be a part of the system (ie they would take him away) -BUT- if it were not for a wonderful resident in endocrinology who spotted the problem and educated me on the aspects of the problem I know he would not be alive today.
