I do know that there is a link between obesity and the use of florinef and cortef, but I don't believe that it would be that drastic in a child who is affected with saltwasting CAH, I get conflicting views from different people and medical reports. If your body is not making enough of these hormones and salt then you're only putting back what you're not making. I'ts only logical to think that way especially when you factor in the characteristics of your family. We are thin and slightly taller than what you would say is average height. I can't except the fact that my son was gaining at times 5-6lbs. in 4 months. Something can be done hopefully. Bye for now, Holly
