We have a 10 year old daughter that is on Cortef 3 times a day at 7 am, 3 pm, and 11:00. Our endrocrinologist of course would like us to stick to the 8 hour schedule and not go over 10 between maintenance levels. Her sleep patterns seem to be fine. Possibly in more need of sleep, for she sleeps anywhere from 8 to 10 hours. Our son, who does not have CAH sleeps longer and deeper. When our daughter was younger she was also difficult to get to sleep and would wake up at night. Always has been a early riser. Maintanence levels of Cortef should not bother one stomach according to our endrocrinologist. Although I think one would get different opinions. Also I may add our daughter is still conditioned to take the med at night like a nipple. She sucks it in like a baby. Its a lot of work to keep one to the med. schedule. I love her so much that I have no problem. My fear is when she get
