Name : MOHOMED SHIFAN MARJAN Age : 7 1/2 years Started off with high fever and chest cold. Collapsed on the 3rd day of treatment. Vomiting continued. thereafter he had convulsions. Diazepam & Saline Drip was given on admission to control fits. Vaccinations for Japaneese Encephalities & Mums given in time. Lumber puncture test excludes Meningitis. Scan report reveals a rare Encephalitis virus. Also suspect, Herpes. No brain tumour or abscess. Patient remained at ICU for 1 1/2 months. Zovirax I.V. was given for 10 days. Blood pressure too was high; was treated. PRESENT THREATMENT: ------------------------------------------- CARBAMEZEPINE 100mg To control focal fits & 200mg temperature CLONAZEPAM 1.5mg b.d. NEBULIZE N/SALINE NIFIDIPINE 10mg SOS PARACETAMOL 1 TAB. SOS FRISIUM 5 mg b.d N.ACID 1/2 TAB. x 6 (UFR reveals urine infection. but culture report is positive. N. ACID is resistant. Therefore to be discontinued.) Patient using catheter Presently sucking out & nebulizing secretions through Tracheastromy Tube. NG feeding tolerated by patient. (160 ml/cc 2 hourly feeds are given) Physio & Chest Therapy given. PRESENT IMPROVEMENT ------------------------------------------- Blinking but eyes roll-up. Sometimes tolerating NG feeds Yawning & stretching upper & lower limbs. Responding to deep pain. Urine output ok Passing stools. Chewing movements.
