Let me first say this....at least you are at saturation in things to read!!! We were not online when my sone was born and out local library ws of very little help for us. I think knowledge is a big help As for your questions: 1. My son has not been any sicker than my non-cah daughter. In fact, he seems to pop out of illnesses quicker than her. A rotovirus was going around and my son got it. He was up and at 'em in no time at all. Sometimes I htink we could all benefit from a cortef pill! hehehe 2.My son got all the immunizations avaliable when he was young, including chicken pox vaccine. I know there are some families who opt not to get them. I am with the group that feels the benefits outweighs the risks. 3.We have drifted back and forth from 2x to 3x a day through out his life. Personally, the convenience of 2x was great, but he seems to respomd better have and have better test results when we are on 3x. We take two small doses at am and midday and a larger one at night. This stacking is supposed to help keep the total intake lower while suppressing when it needs that largest amount in the body. We took suspension until about 6 months ago. However, our doctor has said that if we want to alter in a smaller amount, we may need to have some suspension on hand to give smaller doses for one of the doses each day. 4. We have never had a 24 hour test. We are old enought now that we could do the one from a 24 hour urine collection though. During the first year, we checked sodium and potassium very regularly and 17 OHP every three months or so from one blood sample. Do plan on getting a bone age x-ray of the wrist at one year and and every year after that. WElcome to this message board. Ihope you find some answers you need while you are here. My son is 3 1/2 now and have been down the road you are on. thie first year was the roughest, mostly because of blood tests. they were hard, but getting EMLA numbing cream before the tests have made that part a vague memory. -Debbi 4.Debbi
