Yeah! An emergency doc knows!

I just wanted to write and tell of our recent ER visit! As amazing as it may seem, we actually found an ER doctor who knows about adrenal insufficiency! After crashing on his bike, as in, hit the brakes too hard and being flipped to the side and over the bike, and having no helmet, uuuggghhh, we made our way to the emergency room for stitches. By the way, we had just bought helmets at the schools bike rodeo, the kids didn't take the helmets off even when off their bikes, so this accident makes no sense to me. Kid thing to do I guess. Anyway, when we arrived at the emergency room, we went through all the questions and I let the nurse know of his meds and why he was on them. I asked if they could give a stress dose, she went to talk to the doc, well he came to talk to me and actually started talking to me like I was NOT dumb! Amazing! Any way, they bent over backwards to get the Cortef and after having the privilege of seeing Kurtis' skull, he was stitched and everything is fine. There is hope after all! :) Well, a happy ending to a scary story.
