I have a 2 year old daughter with salt wasting CAH. She has had a constipation problem since she was about 8 months old. At about a year old, she started vomiting everything she drank or ate for about 2 months. We tried switching foods and cutting out all milk products. It stopped for a few weeks but then she started vomiting 3 times in a row everyday for a few eeks at a time. I kept a journal of evrything she ate, we had lots of bloodwork done and we couldn't find what was making her sick. After many conversations with her doctors, her pediatrician said that her constipation could be upsetting her stomach and making her vomit. She goes through stages, months at a time without vomiting at all and then all of a sudden she will start for a few days and then stop. Through it all, she has remained constipated, and we have tried many things to help her. She does not seem bothered by the constipation, maybe because she is so used to it. Her pediatrician said she may have a malabsorption problem-although I don't know quite what that means. Our next step is to see a gastoenterologist, but I hesitate to put her though all those grueling tests, i.e. upper G.I., etc.. She will not drink prune juice or eat raisins, prunes, or peaches. It would be interesting to know what causes this and if it is related to their disorder or the medication.Nicole
