I have a 2 year old with salt-wasting CAH. She had 2 surgeries when she was very little, and she is maintained on a course of florinef and Cortef 3 times a day. I would be very interested to hear from any older girls or women with salt-wasting CAH about the trials and tribulations of growing up with CAH. I am naturally concerned about the issues we are facing in the future. Are the medication side-effects bad? I always thought that because our children do not naturally make what the medications replace, they were not going to experience the awful list of side effects and complications normally associated with steroids. But I have noticed a few older girls mentioned the medicine and how they found it difficult to take or even stopped taking it altogether. Please, I would appreciate hearing from any of you who don't mind sharing your experiences. It would help to put my mind at ease. Thanks again.
