After several conversations with Susan Perry's(head of anti-inflammatory division at Upjohn)answering machine. A Mr. Lester called me back today to let me know were and how the testing was going on the Cortef suspension I sent back to them a couple of weeks ago. He said the bottle was currently undergoing "potency" testing, and this process takes a couple of weeks for results to come back. But, after our conversation he said he would call to try and "hurry it along" and he would call me as soon as it was complete and results were in.I again explained to him the whats and whys of our children's(especially our babies who need small doses)need for this med to be consistant and appropriately potent. He seemed very concerned, especially when I reminded him that thousnds of children were using the med just for CAH. I also reminded him how hard some of the other steroids were on the kids due to extreme side effects(again all of this was in the letter I wrote to the company on May 5) and told him that if this drug was not properly suspending that these kid's dosages were possibly being increased to much higher than what they needed. So, when they were switched to the tablet form of Cortef this dose might be too high and we might not know until blood levels were drawn several weeks or months later. I told him about the problems we could have with our kid's growth ,and how important it was since many of you had said your Endocrinologist had multiple patients whose levels came back off after the Cortef re-formulation. He tried to assure me that the "white powder" found on the bottom of the Cortef bottles was an "inert" product used in suspension. He said it was not drug, but that they were still testing to see if it was potent with this fall-out. Sounds a little "fishy" to me. I told him I would update them on any levels that came back consistantly off with our kids--espcially my son's. Thanks for all your e-mails on the subject. I'll let you know what happens.Michele
