Hi Danielle! You really are lucky to have found this board! I swear I get better info here than I do from our Docs. My daughter is almost 16 months old and was "Visually" diagnosed at two days old due to ambiguous genitalia (My OB said to "pick a sex and raise it that way", I went POSTAL and insisted on further testing, THANK GOD). They immediately put her on the Cortef and sent us home after three days. My daughter has never had a "crisis", although we did have a scare a few weeks ago. She had a high fever and was vomitting. Even though we called the endo and the Ped they kept telling us that she was okay as long as she had the Cortef in her for an hour prior to vomitting. We gave her stress doses immediately after vomitting and gave her Kool-Aide mixed with Pedialyte 2 cc's at time (set the timer and kept this up for 28 hours in 15 min intervals) I would never do that again. I would give the injectible and take her to the hospital. as they say, hind sight in 20-20! Best of Luck!Bonnie
