Hi Barbara! I have a daughter with salt wasting CAH who is almost 16 months old. I also have two 4 year old boys (not twins, one will be 5 in a week!!!!) who do not have CAH. I had never heard of CAH and when my daughter was born the original diagnosis was ambiguous genitalia. Upon my insistance we were transferred to a differnt hospital where CAH was diagnosed at 3 days old. Would I have considered taking Dex had I known? I don't know. I know how difficult it was to have a three month old baby have to have surgery. The results were excellent and we only spent 27 hours in the hospital, when the original projection was 3 to 5 days. Have you tried looking up Dex (can't spell it out or I would!) on the internet? I'm sure you could find side effects etc. ther. Good Luck!Bonnie
