Re: Slow development and moody child

I wouldn't worry about developement. There is such a wide spectrum of rates of developement for every kid. Jonathan was talking clearly at age 2, but his younger brother Benjamin still cannot talk clearly at 4. Benjamin on the other hand could do sumersaults at least a year before Jonathan could (Jonathan is a year and a half older). Benjamin also picks up on anything physical very quickly. He could twirl his spaghetti around his fork at 2 1/2 while both his brothers struggled with simply getting it to stay on the fork. Even now at 4 (his birthday was June 3rd) he's found out he can walk up the walls in the hallway by putting his hands on one wall and his feet on the other wall. Jonathan has CAH and Benjamin doesn't. Ginny, at 1 1/2, is imitating the motions Linda, Samuel and I do as we learn Tai Chi, so she appears to be a learner like Benjamin. As for moodiness, we have definitely noticed that our two with CAH are much more moody than the two without. It's just something they will have to learn to control. Taught right they will not only be able to control it but learn a vital lesson that many people never learn, how to control your emotions.
