Good for you! I think that you did the right thing and the comment was too harsh. We know our own children best, and I can't imagine that you would ever sacrafice your child's health. We must be on top of all of the signs; however, too much cortef given over long periods of time is a bad thing too. The injection should only be given if absolutely necessary, and your child held down the oral meds as you were instructed to give them. On the contrary, I think that you handled the situation better than most. Automatically heading for the injection is not the answer either. Our children have already been to the hospitals countless times, been poked and examined, and had surgeries all at such young ages. For them to see their parents freaking out all the time, can't leave them with a very secure feeling. Don't get me wrong this is a very serious problem and I don't take it lightly (I drive her endo crazy sometimes!); but there is a time when I realize who the specialist is. Good luck!Angela
