I understand that levels as high as 80,000 for 17 OHP are not unheard of. About Kennedy, I thought Kennedy had Addison's. Addisons disease is treated pretty similarly to CAH, but it results from complete adrenal failure as opposed to a particular enzyme deficiency (like 21 hydroxylase). As a consequence, when treating Addisons, it's easier to control cortisol levels. Accordingly, adrenal gland removal (for CAH patients) is actually recommended by certain researchers in the literature!Alan
