I don't think anyone interpreted you as a monster. It sounded to me like you were unsure as what to do. Although Danny may have sounded harsh, he was around the board when deaths have occured. I remember all too well how it felt to read that...so close to home. With that and seeing by boy failing at 10 days of age, like yours, I don't take too many chances. In fact, I go to the ER alot as well. We have never been taught to give the shot. After our rotavirus encounter this winter, you can bet I will learn now. No telling what could have happened between home and the ER wait. I think any harshness was meant only to give you the strength it seemed you might have needed to get in there and do what you (sounded to me anyway) like you thought needed to be done. No one who would take the time to revamp this message board when mine was a MESS would intend any ill will. I do want to add that having read all the responses, I have to agree with Danny about kids getting their cues from us. I seriously doubt any child would be fearful of doctors then all that is going on is they can't keep anything down, have dry heaves, fever..... I am glad this chapter is over for you, Nicole. I was so glad Kyle's big sister did not get that virus. It was just awful!!!!Debbi
