I'm encouraged to see more states adding CAH to newborn screening list... however, our son was tested as a newborn here in Florida and because the results take atleast 3-weeks our son became ill, went in to shock, and was hospitalized for several days without a diagnosis. It did us no good. An earlier response could have spared him (and us) so much trauma!! If anyone is involved in their state's newborn screening please address this. I am taking it up with Fla dept of health. Our endo told us of JFK... also added he wasn't too good about taking his meds and often wound up in the hospital.
