Hi, I understand your fears and concerns. My 10 year old daughter(cah) is having surgery July 8th. I don't know the correct terminolgy of the procedure, but they are going to take a piece of her bowel to make a vaginal canal. We were given the option of waiting until her first period, which the pediatric urologist said would be quite painful and also cause scarring of her falopian tubes, we have decided to go ahead and do it now. This will be her third and hopefully final surgery. She had her first surgery at 6 months and her second at 4 years, both surgeries being a clitoroplasty and vaginoplasty. She had a severe case of ambiguous genitalia. What has her urologist said about waiting? Maybe you could make an appointment to discuss your fears, concerns and options? I would be happy to help in any way I can. Take Care, Nancy
