Thank you Helene for your message, it has been really hard lately dealing with this CAH condition. My son just recently had some more blood work done because his dosage of hydrocortisone had been lowered due to the concern me and my husband had about my sons excessive weight gain. His 17 ohp was at approx. 25ng dl. I hope thats correct as far as the measurement. My sons doctor says that other doctors use diffent measurements. Could you tell me what normal 17 ohp levels were in your case? My son is ten so it may differ for age. My son also seems to be doing fine with a lowered dosage, it actually seems like the more he gets of the medicine the more side effects he gets. My son was diagnosed with salt losing CAH, don't know if you knew that. I think that if the next DNA results come back with no mutations detected again, we may decide to faze out the medicine also, right now I really don't know because about the only thing that doesn't seem right is the 17 ohp levels. But then again there could be other factors as to why those are high. If you have anything else you could tell me about how this works out for you and your family please keep me posted, I would really appreciate that. Thanks again. Holly
