hello i am a 26 yr old female with non salt wasting cah diagnosed at age 6. i have been on cortisone all this time. my dosage and timing have changed throughout the years. for many years i was 7 1/2 mg in am and 12 1/2 mg in pm. it is true that they stopped marketing 5 mg pills of cortisone so i started to take 10 in am and pm to make it easier (by my docs request) the last endo i went to wanted me to start to take it all in the AM which i thought was strange b/c i was always told to take it in the pm to mimic your natural rhythm. he also wanted to change me to pred. he said the reason children are on cortisone and not pred is because of growth issues! and since i was an adult and stopped growing i should have no problem. i opted to stay on the cortisone i felt if there is no problem why mess with it. but please ask to make sure it will not change his growth.!
