I guess my son is one of the lucky ones....he is now 14+yrs, 5ft tall, and only weighs 94 pounds. When he was first diagnosed at the age of 2 months, he gained ALOT of weight but grew in height VERY slowly. It took about 1.5yrs for him to even out and not look like a butter ball. But since then he has always been slender built, just like me & my father. I would imagine if the cortisol level is kept as low as possible without endangering their health, that would greatly help with the weight problem. One of the first things my son notices whenever his cortisone (or prednisone that he's on now) is increased is a tremendous increase in his appetite. Of course now that he's going through puberty too, he's ALWAYS hungry....but he's still staying slender.Deb
