Our daughter is 2 years old and still takes sodium chloride. She takes a total of 4.5 ml per day (divided in three doses) the endo said he usually begins weaning kids off the supplement around 3 or 4. Her plasma renin levels have been a bit high recently but they feel she is on enough florinef (2 tabs per day) so we were told to salt her food more. Does your son salt all his food? I have never been a salt taker on food so it seems almost unnatural to salt some things (i.e. pasta) but I try to just do it. She hasn't really started salting her own food. She does seem to prefer tomatoe sauces, BBQ sauce which are high in sodium. Do you encourge your child to eat high sodium foods? How do you explain to siblings that they do not need to salt their food to the same degree their brother/sister with CAH does?Dina
