I am slightly confused by terminology. Is classical CAH the salt- losing type? Is non-classical CAH the non salt losing type? What is late-onset CAH? Does this last only effect girls. My son has non salt losing CAH (nonclassical??). I notice that most messages posted here and on the late-onset board are about salt-losing type and girls/women. I can understand what their problems are caused by - too much testosterone etc. But how does this effect boys when they pass puberty? I realise about the likelihood of a short height and that Tom will need to take prednisolone or hydrocortisone because of his inability to produce cortisol. But will he be as affected as girls. You know hairiness, acne and BO are par for the course for many teenage boys and men normally. Will things be worse for him? What about moodiness/ aggression/ etc? Is he likely to be affected by this? Also does anyone know about longterm health problems in boys? Does it effect fertility? What about heart disease? For instance I think that testosterone levels affect cholestrol but I'm not sure of that one? Are there any men out there with CAH who can help. Most info seems to focus on children and women. Understandably but not much help to me i'm afraid.Gareth P
