Hi, We have a nine month old baby girl with classic salt-wasting CAH diagnosed when she was 5 days old.She had her first surgery when she was 5 1/2 mths and she is due to go for her second operation in September. The past nine months have flown by but not without it's problems- she has had a UTI and only two weeks ago caught the rotavirus. Thankfully she recovered well both times in hospital. We do have a store of solu-cortef injection but any time she has been very ill or vomiting we have given her hydrocortisone suppositories rectally which we find much less traumatic than giving an injection. We haven't seen anyone mention this method of giving emergency hydrocortisone on the message board and wondered whether anyone has used them and if so, what they thought of them. Also, as her second operation is looming, we would appreciate any advice or information on what to expect. We have only just found this site and think it is great to be able to seek advice and share problems with others in the same situation . We live in Ireland and think it's important to see how people in other countries cope. Will write again with any tips we pick up , Thanks, HeatherHeather
