Has anyone had any trouble getting the injectable 100 mg solu-cortef? I’ve recently had trouble with a new drug plan from work but worst of all we can’t get the 100mg of solu-cortef until next month. For the past 11 years I have never had a problem getting the prescription filled for my daughter. My drug plan covered it no problem. Recently, I feel like I’ve had road blocks. When coverage was switched to a different carrier, I was told the solu-cortef was for hospital use only. I wasn’t amused. Between the faxes, phone calls and letters from doctors, I am hoping it is now settled. (Although I am still not quite sure.) That was the easy stuff........ Mid May, I informed the pharmacy that we needed to update the prescription as the expiry date on our stuff was June 99. Usually it takes a few days to a week for the order to come in. Instead of 100 mg, the supplier sent 1000 mg. Another delay. Today, my daughter was just shown how to use the 100 mg size just this morning. She’s off to summer camp next week. The last two outdated vials were used as trials. We were planning to pick up the new stuff on the way home. That’s when I found out about the back order. The pharmacist told me that it was still on back order. Of course my response was how long will it be on back order? When she didn’t know, I asked for Upjohns for a phone #. I called Upjohns. I was informed that the 100 mg’s was on back order until August 4. I’m hoping that we can get some of the 250 mg size and adjust for the amount injected. I know many of those on this site are from the U.S. Have any of you had any trouble getting the 100 mg prescriptions filled? We are Canadian but live in a border town across from Detroit. Have any other Canadians had similar problems recently? Thanks for any info you can pass my way. Peg D.Peg
