Re: Slightly confused and prognosis for boys

Hello Sue, Tom is almost 8, (in September). He's also full of beans, just like any other young boy I suppose. I've noticed that a lot of messages talk about being tired and so on but he never seems to have a problem.Tom could probably run for Wales - its the only speed he knows. He joined a swimming club last Xmas and has just knocked 5 seconds of his previous personal best-so he's very fit and healthy. I guess part of it is attitude, we certainly don't treat him any differently to our daughter who is CAH free so he isn't really aware that he's got a disorder other than taking tablets. In fact as some of his school friends have bad asthma he feels he's pretty lucky as he doesn't get out of breathe and doesn't require an inhaler. Tom was diagnosed about 4 1/2 years ago and until now has been well controlled on hydrocortisone tablets. He's just switched to prednisolone. There don't seem to be many non salt wasting CAH out there on the web - my understanding from the literature is that 25% of all CAH is nonsalt losing - do you know if thats true. I f it is I guess that would explain why there aren't that many. However as this is the least lffe threatening type it would be interesting to hear form any male adults with non salt wasting CAH just to find out if they are having any health problems etc. Also any teenagers as well. Any way please keep in touch. It seems we're few and far between. What i'm interested in right now is the
