I was reading your reply to Maheran, and I was just wondering what kind of physical and psychological drawbacks there could be for a child to have a clitoral reduction if she is in the hands of a good surgeon? I would think that there would be bigger drawbacks to not having the surgery, and letting your daughter grow up looking different from other girls? When we first found out our children had CAH, my husband didn't want to tell them, and he especially didn't ever want to tell our daughter about the surgeries she had. But as they grow up, they will know what they have and what the side effects are or can be and they might wonder if they had some virilization or needed any surgery. For her own knowledge as well as her future doctor's knowledge, that information, I feel, is best shared. I was just curious what the benefits would be to not having the surgery. I am always open minded, and appreciate fresh opinions on things. Maybe i have overlooked something.
