I guess the shock of finding out Jonathan had CAH was much lessoned since he was at the time in the PICU and had been very close to death. We were so grateful to have not lost him that the CAH was minor. I grew up with a more stoic attitude and take life's bumps as part of the package. We have two kids with CAH and there is basicly no difference between them and our other two other than they must take the medicine and we watch them closer when they get sick. Sure CAH is annoying but there are many silver linings. Your child will grow up to be much more disciplined because of the necessary daily routine. She will have a greater appreciation of life and if she follows the pattern that I have observed in mine and other CAH children she will be exceptionally bright and energetic. CAH is not all doom and gloom. Read more of the messages on here from people who have lived with it. They tell a very cheerful story of a virtually normal life.
