Michael, Congratulations on the birth of Abby Michelle. God has blessed you with a wonderful gift, and He knows you are very capable of taking care of her. While this is still new to you and such a shock, yes with time it gets easier. I have 2 daughters with CAH, both diagnosed at age 3. One is now 21 and the other is 15. They both lead very active lives, and are not hindered any way whatsoever by this disorder. I prefer to call it a disorder rather than a disease. I just thank the Lord that it was detected before any crisis arose, and that there is medication to treat it. I look at it as just a hormone deficiency, and thank the Lord that can be made up by meds. I live in Midland, TX and we have a endo here locally that is currently treating both girls. Prior to that, we were going to Texas Tech Health Sciences in Lubbock TX. You didn't mention where you were from, but I know there are alot of people in here from all over - England, Australia, Canada, US, and probably some places I'm not aware of. So maybe someone within this messageboard is close to you. I encourage you to just love your daughter as she is, and don't let any of the what-ifs occupy your time and energies. Deal with any situation as it arises, spend the rest of the time raising her as if there were no problems, and just love and encourage her throughout her life. God Bless and keep you, your wife, and little Abby. Janice Aldridge
