Hi. This is Lori's husband, Jim. Thanks for writing. It has been very confusing! They originally told us Hope had CAH and they immediately put her on cortef. Then about a month ago another Dr. from the Endocrinology Dept. called and said Hope MAY only be a carrier and could come off of the med immediately if it was true. We couldn't understand why they would put her on it if they didn't know FOR SURE that she had the condition. We called and talked to the "head Dr." and he said she'd probably have to be on it for life, though she had a very very mild case. On top of this a nurse there told us she probably could come off--when she reaches puberty! We are presently trying to get to the truth in all of this. I am calling daily. We are also scheduled for another appointment in August. Do carriers ever have to take cortef? We are very new to all of this. Thanks for reading. Anyone welcome to e-mail us anytime.
