THAT is it!! I remember reading about the new vaccine and the only thing I remembered about it was....that we were not a good candidate. Now, I recall that it is for those under a year of age. Seems kind of sad for our kids though. We went through it in the spring and it was awful. I will say that we never got the diarhea....perhaps we got the IV stress doses in early enough that it just Kicked the virus's butt! I know it could have been alot worse, but I did not wait around and try to treat at home for very long. After less than three hours (believe me, it seemed less..so busy cleaning up one mess, emptying garbage cans, and waiting for ped to return phone calls) we went to the ER for the the shot. They followed the protocol that is in the letter that my endo has me carry. They put him on IV fluids and stress doses. Our pediatrician decided to admit him. He was not dehydrated, but I think he was concerned that the diarhea would show up.
