Hi, I am a 27 year old guy from Scotland with CAH. Your girlfriends situation is so similar to my sisters. She is 37 and was raised as a boy for the first six years of her life. The doctors operated to lower the testicles when she was about five and they discovered internally she was female with ovaries. She went through corrective surgery recently and is taking seroxat and anti-depressant. It came as a shock to me when she told me a few years ago but she has a relationship and is coping. I myself am worried about later life and whether males change, the doctors are vague whenever I ask. I hope it helps your girlfriend to know that she is not totally alone in what happened. Things are a lot better now with treatment and so on. My sister was on of the forst to be saved in the Uk. My parents lost their first child in 1960 to CAH. The treatment I received when born in 1972 had much improved.Andrew
