Has anybody heard about Florinef doses being scaled to body surface area? I'm familiar with Cortef doses being in the range of 15 to 25 mg/m2 (and preferably 15 to 18mg/m2) for kids. Thus, the dose of Cortef scales with increasing body surface area. However, our endo tells us our child will be on the same dosage of Florinef (0.1 mg tablet daily) always, so the amount of Florinef is apparently independent of body size. After some literature consultation, it seems there is at least one reputable reference to matching Florinef to body surface area. The number from this reference states 150 micro-grams per meter squared, as a good target for CAH kids. Does this information gell with anyone?alan
