Re: my daughter

Michael, I am the grandmother of a 4-year old girl with salt-wasting CAH. We were at first shocked & devastated by this diagnosis, but after dealing with it over a period of time, we have become used to it. My granddaughter Kayleigh is as active and bright as any child without CAH. If anything, CAH has made my daughter Jamie a better parent. You just have to be keenly aware of your child's mood swings and attitude. Don't be afraid to question your doctors about everything they do or ask you to do. And don't be afraid to tell your family and friends about your child's condition. It is now your responsibility to educate them about CAH. Some people will want to learn as much as possible, but some others may care less. I hope you have a strong family support system. It is very important and helpful. Just know that you and your wife are not alone with this. Everyone who uses this message board is thinking about you and your baby. Take care and God Bless. Donna Broe
