3 Beta dehydrogenase CAH

My daughter was just diagnosed w/3 Beta dehy.CAH also. She is 13. I can't seem to find any info on it either. She is not being put on steroids since her cortisol was 32...is this good? Gynecologist the endo sent us to put her on Ortho-tricyclen birth control pills to decrease androgens and get her periods straightened out. Does this type of CAH sometimes cause generalized weakness/tiredness? I have spent 13 yrs. telling pediatrician "something is not right w/this child", and of course he thought I was nuts. For ex: she stopped breathing EVERY time she slept and was monitored for 14 months, but they didn't know why..it was not "true apnea", she had a seizue disorder for awhile, she had a very enlarged clitoris, and the worst for her has been a 20lb wt. gain per yr. from K-5th grade = 100 lbs!!! Her first wt. gain was actually between 3 and 4 yrs. old-19 lbs. that yr. Doc wasn't upset by this either. Finally went to ped. endo and got answers but not much info, so need help. Have gotten no real info except bc pills should help. Will the bc pills help her lose the weight? Also, her DHEA was over 1500, so her male hormones are way out of wack. Is there anything nutritionally and/or supplement wise I can do to help her feel better in spite of this? I am very angry and bummed out at this point, and certainly could use some guidance. I am an RN, but have NO frame of reference for any of this stuff. Sorry so long...thanks for your help. (When I get all settled down here, my mission is going to be to educate and inform people about CAH!)
