Ray I am sorry that your experience with this message board hasn't been a good one so far. The person that responded to you obviously could not see that your anger is just from frustration and concern for your friend. I am sure a lot of us can identify with you being frustrated while trying to get information. Most of us on this board have younger children, and have not faced what your friend is experiencing. You didn't say how old she is. It sounds like her disorder has not been managed properly. You mentioned daily medications, but didn't name them, or doses. She needs to be under the care of a GOOD endocrinologist. The Magic Foundation may be able to supply you with the name of an experienced endocrinologist in your area. They may also be able to provide you with information that would be helpful to you. The links to the left of this message board should help you contact them. Also, Dr. Maria New's office may be able to put you in contact with a doctor in your area that could help your friend. I have dealt with them and they are very helpful, but it will require a long distance call on your part. Dr. New is at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. The number is 212-746-3462. If CAH is managed properly, a person should not have the excess hair and extreme short stature that you mentioned. While I doubt anything can be done about the height, hopefully they can help with the excess hair problem. I hope you will persue some of these leads. I wish you the best of luck. Your friend is lucky to have someone that cares about her as much as you do. There are some wonderful people on this board, some of them are adults with CAH. Maybe they just haven't read your message yet, but will respond to you soon. Good Luck.CAT
