Ray, I have a 14.5yr CAH old son, so I can't really help you out. But you might want to check out the last link on the left, it goes to the late onset CAH board. I'm sure there are probably some differences between late onset & congenital, but you might find some info on medications that could help your friend with her excesive hair problem, something she might want to discuss with her endo. I don't know what else to tell you. My son is concerned about ending up small, I just encourage him to be proud of who he is no matter what...it's what a person is like inside that counts. After all, we all know that "good things come in small packages." Whenever we are in the kitchen I remind him about the one saying I read not to long ago, it said, "It is a proven fact that short people are smarter--simply because they are not constantly getting hit in the head by the kitchen cabinet doors."...he likes that one. I know some people may not agree, but it is just "our way" in my family to laugh at our differences...after all, "if you laugh at yourself, others can't laugh AT you, only WITH you" then it doesn't hurt. It's not that we put ourselves down, but rather that we make some sort of compliment about what is good about our particular difference. I hope I've helped atleast a little bit. You said it, "When someone is your friend, then they are your friend", well she has two (you & your wife) it's just a little more inconvienent to reach out for support when you're apart, but it's not impossible.
