Re: Possible CAH diagnosis

Everybody has a congenital condition, it's called being human. The variations from "normal" occur in gradual changes, from the hardly different all the way to the very unusual. Hang in there and learn as much as you can. As you get to understand what's going on, things will be fine. I'm not sure if elevated cortisol would indicate non-classical CAH. With CAH, the adrenal glands generally fail to produce enough cortisol. The ACTH stimulation test will probably tell you a lot more. The excess facial hair and acne are possibly indicative of increased male androgen levels (like testosterone) in your daughter's blood. This is probably why the non-classical CAH diagnosis was mentioned. Good Luck!
