I believe your chances of passing a defective or recessive CAH gene are the same whether you have a mild case or a severe one. In order to have CAH, which is a recessive genetically inherited disorder, you must have 2 recessive or CAH genes. If you have CAH, you can only pass a defective or CAH gene to your offspring. However, if you have children with a man who does not have CAH, your children will only be carriers of the recessive CAH gene, and they will not have CAH. If you have children with a man who is a carrier of the CAH gene, he can pass on a normal gene or a CAH gene, so the chances of having a CAH child increase. And of course, if he has CAH, so will your children. In percentages: 1. man with no CAH or CAH gene-100% chance your children will be carriers. 2. man with one CAH gene-50% chance your children will have CAH. 3. man with CAH-100% chance your children will have CAH. Hope this helps.Nicole
