There was a time about a year ago when my almost 4 year old, Kyle, had a renin level that was amazingly low! Our endo reduced his florinef to 1/4 of a tablet a day. She aslo mentioned we might even stop taking it. That sort of scared me really...the thoughts of those early days still haunt me. At any rate after about 6 months, we had more test results and everything seemed to be off. He went back to one tablet a day. And now, a year later, renin levels are still very good and we just reduced it to 1/2 a pill one day, and one pill the next. I guess that is easier than taking 3/4 of a pill. I have yet to hear of anyone just stop being salt wasting. And to think that non-salt wasters often take florinef makes be feel that ther has to be at least some benefit from this med.....even if the renin levels are good. Anyway, that is my "Mom's opinion".
