This may be more of a general health issue, but I called my pediatrician, and he is at a conference until Friday. My 2 1/2 year old CAH daughter was sick a week ago with mild fever, runny nose, slight cough. We got through that fairly quickly, within 48 hours, and since then it has passed to my 1 year old, 3 1/2 year old, and myself. We are all over it, but yesterday, my 2 1/2 year old daughter had very red eyes and her nose has not stopped running for days. It is running cponsistently clear, and she is sneezing alot. At first I thought she was relapsing, but no fever at all. My mom suggested that this is allergy/hayfever season and I should try giving her Benadryl. This makes perfect sense to me, since I am struggling with this myself. My question is, are CAH kids more prone to allergies? Should I see a specialist for this, or is it okay to treat with antihistamines and for how long? It seems odd to me to see a toddler with such bad allergies, especially since my other 2 don't have any problems at all. I didn't know alot about allergies, since I myself have never seen anyone about mine. Just wondering.Nicole
